He worked with the Belfast YMCA, first as executive director and then as director of counselling and evangelism. Out of the counselling department at the YMCA grew Christian Guidelines, an organization devoted to counselling and the promotion of family life. Perrot was founder and the first director of this organization, a ministry in which his wife Hilary also shared.Hilary Perrott has worked in administration in the commercial, medical, and legal worlds. She is currently a member of the Board of the YWCA of Ireland.
