She grew up in California, and graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. When she moved to Santa Barbara, Jennie trained as a Radiological Technologist, and worked in this field for forty years before retiring in August 2004. At the age of five, she was saved and later baptized in the Holy Spirit at an Episcopal church in Santa Barbara.
